Personal History

William was born out of wedlock and raised solely by his father on Star Base Delta. His father worked conjunctively with a team of maintenance engineers, brewing young William’s natural affinity for tinkering and scavenging piles of “useless junk”. Though, nothing was ever “junk” for Will; he stood firmly on his belief that every bit and bob was simply waiting for a handsome, intelligent lad to make it into something noteworthy. Such antics thus accrued into habit of hoarding that would follow him later in his life.

William was forced to “make due” without a mother and even a father most of the time. As such, his role models became the off duty workmates of his father- rough, crude and loud mechanics. So sure enough, mannerisms and a vast vocabulary of slang and curses soaked into Williams’s subconscious leaving him with a loose British inflection and a bad habit of preaching vulgarities. His lifestyle included sleeping, eating, tinkering and exploring SBD. As long as he wasn’t missing for several days, his father let William to his own devices.

Unfortunately, the mystery of his mother has never been truly resolved beyond the declaration that she “left” when he was only around 2 years old. Any recollection of his mother stopped at a vague depiction of a generic humanoid female; any noteworthy memories eluded him. Subsequent attempts to gain more information from his father on her whereabouts was retorted with- “She bloody left ya’, Will”. Despite subsequent attempts to scavenge databases on his birth parents, any records of the mother of William Thaddeus Daudrick were eerily illusive- almost as if they were intentionally deleted. Even so, Will trusted his father’s advice- “Women come and go, try ta’ hold onto them and they disappear”.

When he reached around 19 years old, Will was accepted into Starfleet’s Academy regardless of deficient formal educational experience prior to the Academy. When his father was taking a quick utilities break, William hopped to his position and successfully recalibrated the faulty cloaking mechanism on the ship that was docked. In truth, he was trying to impress a certain female Midshipman who he briskly met in his usual rounds around the base but ended up scoring a position in the Academy instead. He majored in Mechanical engineering, dabbling in circuitry and robotics in addition to his required courses. Though after he graduated he was unable to immediately gain a position on a Star Fleet Vessel, and continued to shadow his father until an opening on the Pegasus revealed itself.
