Personal History

Isaac was the middle of three children born to his parents, in a mid-sized town in the mountains of south-central France. Running around the forests variously with his older sister and friends like Jules, he developed an interest in outdoorsmanship and athletics at a young age. His school grades were good, if not exceptional, but he was blessed with a lot of common sense for his age.

There hadn't been a military member of his family for two generations prior to Isaac, so his decision to sign up at first consternated and worried his family, a reaction only worsened once he finished his training with the European forces and an exchange with the British Army at Sandhurst, and applied for a transfer to the MACO. While the idea of him being a long way from home and fighting is still uncomfortable, his family have gotten used to his career choice. He was vindicated somewhat with the Xindi attack on Earth and the MACO's following role in ending the threat. Now, with the Romulans looming close, they just hope he'll return safely.

Personality Profile

Academy Major(s): École Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr, commissioned 2nd Lieutenant
Academy Minor(s): Cooperation exchange at Sandhurst
Hobbies and Pastimes: Reading, exercise
Short-Term Goals: Achieve decoration in the field
Long-Term Goals: Return to the mountains of his childhood and raise a family
Personality: calm under pressure, businesslike, adventurous, mildly xenophobic following alien attacks on Earth
Sense of Humor: Dry, but often-exercised
Phobias: Spiders
Likes: New food, meeting people, 'runners' high'
Dislikes: People who whine, plans that don't quite work right away
Pet Peeves or Gripes: None
Bad Habits or Vices: Laughing too loudly, knuckle-cracking
Achievements: Graduating second in his battalion from the ESM
Disappointments: that his family didn't support him fully from the beginning, though they now do
Illnesses: now-healed but scarred second-degree burns and shrapnel injuries covering 20% of his body. They don't affect his movement or abilities, but he doesn't have as much feeling in his scarred side as his other.
Strengths: Adaptability, confidence
Weaknesses: Invincibility complex
Fears: Abandonment, being 'the man left behind'
Prejudices: Aliens generally. He's willing to judge any being individually, but it tends to be an uphill climb against his xenophobia
Off Duty Clothing Tastes: T-shirts & slacks, or training gear
Distinguishing Features: Old burns and shrapnel scars down his left side from a grenade training accident, extending from his knee to halfway up his neck. The marks also cover his left arm and most of his left hand.
Pets: None
Friends: Jules Laroche

Personal Paradigm Shifts

Most Painful Experience: having a fragmentation grenade detonate a metre away from him after a misthrow by one of his soldiers in an exercise
Best Time: competing with a Sandhurst platoon against the cadets of Westpoint for the Sandhurst cup
Most Crucial Experience: Graduation from the ESM
Role Model: Capt Jean Danjou, French Foreign Legion
