Personal History

Coris was the firstborn in a litter of five, he was classed as the oldest Son, even though it was only a matter of minutes before his 3 Brothers and 1 Sister followed him. It was something of a family tradition.

R’Shen would remain at home to bring up her young, while SoKarr who was an Ambassador to the Federation would travel often. One such occasion saw SoKarr relocate himself and his family to Earth. Coris loved the place, which he would affectionately call The Blue/Green world. It was there while attending a human school, where two things were discovered. One was the diversity in different cultures, which he took an interest in learning. The other was when he came across a blonde human boy, who had been cornered by several of his own kind. The blonde boy was being intimidated and was in fear of his safety. Coris stepped forward and put himself at the boys side, which saw the bullies depart rapidly. That would have a lasting impression with Coris and his new human best friend Mike Hobritz.

The young Caitian found his time with the Human boy enjoyable and many a good time were spent together. When the time came a year or so later, that Coris and his family would leave Earth, it was a bad time for the him and he missed the friend he’d made.

Coris spent much of his time following the return to Cait reading and learning about the many cultures of the Federation and those of others that had been discovered. Which in turn would likely have been a foundation in his life to build from and would see him apply to Star Fleet when he was of age. He had a keen interest in security and piloting and as such signed up for the studies of both, with his major being security related.

Academically he did well and often found himself learning and competing with fellow Cadet Luna Pond. Though he’d had something of a opinion that humans were weaker than Caitians, though Pond he found to be quite formidable. His time at the Academy was enjoyable, he loved to sit with his fellow Cadets and learn of their respective histories and of their culture as a whole. Which he never doubted would be useful in his chosen profession.

Following graduation from the Academy he was sent to serve on Starbase Alpha, assigned as one of the junior officers. He worked more or less exclusively as a Docking Inspector, mainly working with civilian ships who weren’t as security strict as starships. There he served admirably and without complaint for several years, attaining the rank of Ensign.

However his inquisitive side demanded that he expand, so when the opportunity arose to gain promotion and to be transferred to a none static facility he jumped at it. After a successful application, Coris was assigned to the USS Copernicus and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade.
