Personal History

Janus grew up as the youngest of two siblings moving from country to country, station to station, and planet to planet in the Sol system due to the fact that his parents worked as contractors repairing, maintaining, and upgrading the Sol System defense networks. As they traveled, his only friend was his older sister, Elizabeth, who cared greatly for him. As the years passed and their parents work caused them to travel more and more frequently, she would often watch him for weeks or even months, as their parents traveled around the system, or even to conferences in other sectors.

As he matured, he was fascinated with entertainment, and planned to go into writing and directing Holo-Dramas, while his older Sister always dreamed of entering Starfleet and protecting her little brother and the people of the Federation. In 2397, she applied for and was accepted to Starfleet Academy, and 4 years later she graduated with honors and was assigned to Starbase 1. In 2402, she was on board Starbase 1, serving as a trauma nurse when the Borg attacked and destroyed it. In the confusion that followed the Armageddon directive, Janus dropped off the grid on Earth for just over a year, and he only reappeared when he arrived in San Fransisco a man changed, possessing an incredible fascination in Temporal Mechanics, and an application to Starfleet Academy.

He was quickly accepted, his previous civilian degree in Holo Technology taking a backseat in his studies to that of Temporal Mechanics. During his time at the Academy, no one has gotten close or involved in his life in any major way, no friends, girl-friends, or mentors. His professors described him in reports as "cold", "driven", and "withdrawn", and his classmates rarely had anything more positive to say. It has been recommended that he see a counselor for help following his Sister's death, but he has yet to seek counseling on his own.
