Personal History
Ell is one of the last surviving members of the clan Lethlaen—their home, Thalilez (thaa-lee-lezz), one of the smallest in the Thalilezin archipelago, is now underwater after being flooded in a major storm when Ell was about seven years old.
Upon relocating with his zhavey to Harbortown, a major Andorian city, on Cheshras Island, Ell found himself rejecting modern Andorian values, and because of his refugee status was never legally bound to participate in the shelthreth. Thus he has no bondmates or children, and, at the age of 24, may be too old to procreate anyway.
As young as 14, Ell started getting into trouble—petty theft, street fights, illegal possession of intoxicants—the list of misdemeanors he’d committed was ever-growing, and the distance between himself and his zhavey ever widening. Emotionally unstable, and self-medicating his bipolar disorder with alcohol and debauchery, Ell engaged in self-destructive behavior up until the age of 20, when he was convicted of illegally possessing a large quantity of the aphrodesiac and hallucinogen, saf. The officer who caught him put forth an ultimatum to Ell: deportation to a labor colony for the next 15 years, or enlist in Star Fleet, with all prior misdemeanors cleared from his record.

Personality: Ell is ordinarily very easygoing and talkative, with a deep-seated disregard for authority, and disdain for oppression at any level. He thrives on the company of others, but tends to avoid emotionally involving interpersonal relationships. He is driven by a lust for life which leads him to fall into a depression just as easily as getting furiously angry—which is, to say, often. But since enrolling in Star Fleet, he consciously keeps a subdued profile and speaks chiefly when spoken to.
Sense of Humor: Ell's carfully-cultivated professional demeanor is easily betrayed by his juvenile sense of humor. Dirty jokes are his favorite-the raunchier, the better-and no subject is out-of-bounds.
