The following is a list of foods and beverages, organized by species and cultures.

Acamarian

Andorian

Soup made from the variety of cabbages that grew on Andoria.

The Andorian redbat is a flying mammal native to Andoria's moon. Only a few species consider the animal to be edible.


  • Tuber root

A high-calorie food, it is considered a delicacy on Andoria.

  • (Bajoran) Ale

Light in both color and potency, it did have a good amount of carbonation. One might liken it to “lite beer.”


  • Alvas

A grape-like fruit that grew all over Bajor. They are used to make the beverage “alva nut tea,” though it could be eaten dry, like a raisin. The fruit is said to help ward off infection.


  • Deka tea

A Bajoran beverage, it can be served hot or iced.


  • Foraiga

A food considered to be a delicacy on Bajor, it is expensive and difficult to obtain.


  • Groat

The grain of a cereal grass, widely cultivated on Bajor. It provided a flour for baked goods such as bread and pastries.


  • Groatcake

Bajoran breakfast food consisting of groat and other ingredients, good when topped with syrup of “squill” (found only on the planet Balancar).


  • Hasperat

Popular spicy Bajoran food, resembling an Earth burrito. It’s made using a specially-prepared brine, which if made correctly, will supposedly cause a person’s eyes to water, and burn their tongue.


  • Hasperat soufflé

A light, spongy, baked dish often served as dessert, its contents are quite spicy.


  • Jumja stick

An extremely sweet Bajoran candy, this treat also has a lot of Vitamin C. Popular due to its sweetness, it is made from the sap of the jumja tree, which is most likely similar to that of honey.


  • Jumja tea

Jumja tea is a tea made from the jumja tree, which produces a copious amount of sap. It can only be guessed that this sap is like Earth honey, and the tea is a combination of this sap and hot water.


  • Katterpod

A crop grown in large quantities by Bajoran farmers, the most useful part of the plant was the root, which farmers called “beans.”


  • Kava

A Bajoran plant, it has many uses. The plant has at least three edible parts: fruit, roots, and nuts. It could be used to make a coffee additive, baked breakfast rolls, and many uses for the fruit and its juice.


  • Kava juice

Kava fruit was the primary ingredient of kava juice, as well as springwine. The juice is presumably similar to that of Earth orange juice, at least in creation.


  • Klavaatu

A rare, and presumably hard to grow, Bajoran fruit, it is considered a delicacy due to its high price.


  • Koganka pudding

A Bajoran dessert, it’s Bajoran tradition to give koganka pudding to a soon-to-married bride. In Bajoran culture, this is an offering that symbolizes a desire for children.


  • Larish pie

Originally a Cardassian dish, the Bajoran people adopted and adapted the dish, improving it until it was considered a common decadent dessert.


  • Makapa bread

A bread popular on both Bajor and Deep Space 9, it takes on a different taste when dunked in the coffee known as “raktajino.”


  • Mapa bread

Common bread on Bajor, it could be eaten with jam.


  • Moba fruit

Sweet and tangy, the fruit from the Moba tree is native to Bajor.


  • Palukoo

A large arachnid, indigenous to the Bajoran moons. They live in groups, and are the size of an average-sized dog.


  • Ratamba stew

Deep, emerald green in color, this stew had a strong smell. It could be served by itself, or over noodles.


  • Rekja

A spice used on Bajor, it is considered a staple in Tuwaly pie.


  • (Bajoran) Shrimp

An animal that was not actually small in size, it was considered edible and therefore food. Like the Earth equivalent, it was still pink in color.


  • Springwine

Made from fermenting kava juice, this well-known alcoholic beverage was made by the Bajoran people for centuries.


  • Tuwaly pie

A dessert made from the Bajoran fruit “Tuwaly.” The fruit is peppery in taste, and the pie often contains the spice Rekja.


  • Veklava

A traditional food on Bajor, it has been referred to as “comfort food.”


  • Voodai

A non-alcoholic beverage, it is a variety of Bajoran synthale.


Banean

  • Marob root tea

A warm Banean beverage made from crushed Marob root.


  • Rolk

A type of Banean meat, seemingly similar to Earth sausage. It can be used to make rolk stew.

Betazoid

From the Jestral plant on Betazed, this tea can be seen as the equivalent of Earth's chamomile.


  • Oskoid
An oskoid leaf.

Leaf-like Betazoid food, dark yellow, with purple veins that contain sap, said to keep one warm.
Oskoids are considered a Betazoid delicacy.


  • Uttaberry

Uttaberries were an edible, blueberry-like fruit native to Betazed.
Uttaberries were used to make uttaberry crepes, uttaberry pies, and possibly wine.



Bolian

  • Bolian soufflé

A "Bolian soufflé" is a dish that was prepared by Neelix during his time on the USS Voyager, presumably made with ingredients native to Bolarus IX.


  • Tomato soup

Bolian tomato soup is a variety of soup created by the Bolians.
"Bolian style" was one of the fourteen varieties of tomato soup available on replicators during 2371.


  • Tonic water

A beverage originating from Bolarus IX.
It had a calming effect on the human nervous system. It is unknown how it affects Bolians.



Cardassian

Alcoholic beverage, very popular when one needed to bribe a person or persons.


  • Fish juice

Traditional Cardassian morning beverage, served hot.


  • Kanar

Liquor with a variety of colors, it has a thick consistency, and can easily spoil.


  • Regova egg

A delicacy best served fresh, these eggs had a yellow and green shell.


  • Red leaf tea

A hot tea that was dark red in color, and had a sweet and spicy taste.


  • Rokassa juice

A beverage that was said to have “an unmistakable odor.”


  • Rulot / Rulot seed

Cardassian agricultural plant.


  • Sem'hal stew

Common Cardassian meal. Some ate it with yamok sauce.


  • Taspar egg

An animal native to Cardassia, most of the planet’s inhabitants are “revolted” by the sight of a liver Taspar. The eggs are eaten boiled, but can be consumed raw. The contents are brownish in color, and have a gelatinous consistency.


  • Tojal

A Cardassian delicacy, this stew has been said to be best served fresh, and with Yamok sauce. It needs to be consumed before it becomes cool, otherwise the meal will congeal. It does not necessarily smell too pleasant to Human noses.


  • Yamok sauce

A popular Cardassian condiment, Tojal in particular, with yamok sauce, was considered a Cardassian delicacy.


  • Zabu stew

A meat stew from an animal with green innards, it was served in a white broth.



Drayan

  • Cherel sauce
    Condiment that could be served with takka berries.


  • Takka berry
    Type of fruit native to Drayan II, commonly consumed by Drayans.



Enaran

  • Beetle Puree

A gruel-like food, this is typically served for breakfast.


  • Black hole (beverage)

Likely alcoholic, this is a black-colored drink known to be served in bars.


  • Kytherian Crab

Ferengi delicacies, these crustaceans could be eaten with or without their shells.


  • Eelwasser

A popular beverage, whose primary competitor was the brand "Slug-o-Cola."


  • Flaked blood flea

A Ferengi delicacy, which are especially good when they were really succulent.


  • Jellied gree-worm

Preserved in jelly, the gree-worm is known for its razor sharp teeth. Succulent, gree-worms are considered a delicacy on Ferenginar.


  • Lokar bean

Type of beans, commonly prepared by baking. They were served as a common food dish on Ferenginar, and other locations inhabited by Ferengi.


  • Millipede juice

Bright yellow beverage, made from arthropods. It could be served with or without shells, and usually served hot.


  • Slug liver

Typically served and eaten later in the day, it could be eaten raw or cooked.


  • Slug-o-Cola

A highly popular Ferengi beverage, it contains 43% live algae in every bottle.
An opaque, mint green-colored drink, it is usually served without ice.
It has been described as "slimy," and turns your teeth green.


  • Slug steak

A common Ferengi dish typically described as "juicy," it's a cut of flesh from the wooly slug.


  • Snail juice

A beverage, presumably the liquid extracted from snails, and can be served with extra shells. Snail juice spoils after a period of 193 days.


  • Snail steak

A popular meal and a delicacy among Ferengi, they can be ordered from "lightly seared" to "well-done."
In the Ferengi year 11902, there was an epidemic of snail steak food poisoning on Ferenginar.
This was the first time any other cause of death surpassed vehicular accidents on the planet.


  • Stardrifter

Green-colored alcoholic drink. There are special bottles that allow a bartender to pour the two components of the drink at the same time.


  • Starduster

An alcoholic Ferengi drink, peach-colored when not mixed with anything else.


  • Tube grub

Larva-like animal eaten as a delicacy, usually eaten live, though they could also be minced or fried.
Tube grubs have a lifespan of ten weeks. When prepared as food and chilled, they have a shelf life of seven months.




Klingon

  • Bahgol

Bahgol is a Klingon tea-like beverage, best served warm.


  • Bloodwine

Highly popular alcoholic beverage, best served warm. It is said to not be for the faint of heart. Bloodwine is known to be highly intoxicating, to the point that most non-Klingons are barely capable of tolerating it.
Allegedly twice as potent as whiskey. Klingon captains and generals are fond of carrying several barrels of their favorite vintages to celebrate victories.


  • Bregit lung

Klingon food often prepared on warships. It is prepared in such a way that it has a tough texture and pale color.


  • Chech'tluth

An extremely potent Klingon alcoholic beverage, which gives off the appearance of having smoke rising from it.


  • Firewine

A Klingon alcoholic beverage, perhaps mild in taste.


  • Gagh
A serving of live gagh

Klingon delicacy consisting of unprocessed serpent worms. Most Klingons preferred it live, though it can be served stewed as well.
Allegedly, the actual taste of gagh is considered revolting, and it is eaten solely for the unique sensation of the gagh spasming in one's mouth and stomach in their death throes.


There are at least 51 different types of gagh, each with its distinct taste and texture, including:

    • Bithool gagh, which had feet
    • Filden gagh, which squirmed
    • Meshta gagh, which jumped
    • Torgud gagh, which wiggled
    • Wistan gagh, which was packed in targ blood


  • Gladst

A leafy brown dish, which to Humans looks like a form of seaweed or wood ear fungus from Earth.
It is normally served with sauce, but can be ordered without.


  • Grapok sauce

A brown Klingon food condiment, which is sometimes poured over bregit lung.

  • Krada leg

A popular Klingon dish, the krada is an animal that originats from Klingon space. Its legs are eaten as food, most likely the meatiest part of the animal.


  • Mot'loch

A ceremonial Klingon beverage. On the Day of Honor, it is traditional to drink mot'loch from the Grail of Kahless after eating heart of targ.


  • Klingon octopus

Type of aquatic lifeform native to Qo'noS, and is commonly served as a food dish.


  • Pipius claw

Traditional Klingon dish, eaten after the animal is dead.

Rokeg blood pie


  • Racht

Food consisting of live worms, and resembles a larger version of gagh.
When ordered, one should make sure that the racht is fresh. There is a saying that goes, "there's nothing worse than half-dead racht."


  • Raktajino

Pronounced "rock-tə-jeen-oh" is the Klingon version coffee, served steamed or iced. It is much stronger than any Earth/Human coffee, and may be adapted from a Klingon drink called ra'taj.
It is possible that raktajino is a combination of cappuccino and "ra'taj."

    • Fun fact: Raktajino has the properties to intoxicate Talarians.


  • Rokeg blood pie

Traditional Klingon food, it is traditional to eat Rokeg blood pie on the Day of Honor.

A common animal on Qo'noS, a Targ can be kept as a pet, or eaten.

  • Heart of targ

A traditional Klingon dish consisting of a Targ's heart, served on a bed of vegetables.

Klingons believe that eating the heart of a targ brings courage to any warrior who eats it. It is a required act in the "Day of Honor" ritual.

  • Targ milk

Milk secreted by the Klingon targ.

Targ milk is an ingredient of a Prakal II mixed drink (along with Saurian brandy and Denevian mead).


Brewed from a poisonous plant, this plant and its tea is only mildly poisonous to Klingons.


  • Warnog

A traditional Klingon beer, it is clear in color. It is not used for any ceremonial purposes.


  • Zilm'kach

A Klingon fruit, it is said to look like a small apricot from Earth. Its pit was usually removed before consumption.

  • Ktarian beer

An alcoholic beverage originating from the planet Ktaris.


  • Chocolate puff

A large dome-shaped dessert, it is made from 17 varieties of chocolate.


  • Egg

Yellow with tan speckles, this egg became popular within the Federation.


  • Merlot

A dry red wine produced by the Ktarians, this wine has said to be similar to Earth's Saint-Émilion wines.
This particular merlot is made from the fermentation of black Ktarian grapes.


  • Pudding

Katarian pudding is a frothy-textured dessert dish, white in color.
It includes a catalytic agent, which is designed to make the dessert evaporate in the mouth of the individual eating it.



Risian

  • Bean

Risan beans are a type of edible seeds, served as a side dish.


  • Mai-tai

Orange cocktail beverage, garnished with two fruits, served exclusively on Risa.
Is derived from the Earth mai-tais, which are cocktails made up of rum, Curaçao liqueur, orgeat syrup, and lime juice.


  • Wine

Bottles are given to visitors as a complimentary gift.
It is unclear whether all Risian wine is the same white-golden color



Romulan

  • Romulan ale

A highly intoxicating alcoholic beverage, it has a characteristic blue color. Said color can range from a pale sky blue to a dark midnight blue, depending on the vintage.
Romulan ale takes a while to ferment, and is also used for some medicinal purposes. Though it has been illegal in the Federation since at least the early 2280s, a good
number of Starfleet officers have sampled it at one time or another.

    • Fun fact: Romulan ale is even a challenge for species as stout as the Klingons, who are usually quite resistant to the effects of alcohol.
    • Side fact: Romulan ale briefly became legal in the Federation during the Dominion War when the embargo was lifted,
      due to the alliance between the Federation and the Romulans. However, by 2379, Romulan ale was prohibited again.


  • Jumbo mollusk

A gourmet delicacy from Romulus, which can no longer be obtained on Vulcan.


  • Kali-fal

Highly aromatic beverage that is said to forcibly open one's sinuses well before the first sip.
Can be served warm. Pronounced "KAL-eh-fall". It is unknown if this beverage is alcoholic or not.


  • Osol twist

A Romulan confection that was said to be very tart. Some candy aficionados believe this treat is too sour.


  • Viinerine

Traditional food served in the military.




Talaxian

Talaxians have a higher tolerance for spicy foods than other races.
It is customary for a Talaxian to tell the story of how a meal was prepared to those eating it.


  • Booky

Type of animal lifeform found on the planet Talax, in the Delta Quadrant. This was an edible game bird that flew near the equatorial dust shrouds.


  • Pigweed shallot

Type of plant lifeform resembling a variety of onion.

They were grown from the Riparian corridors of the Heelox river.


  • Threkkle

A small berry fruit from the planet Talax that grew on the walls of caves.



Vulcan

  • Vulcan Brandy

Alcoholic beverage, the liquor being a pale amber in hue.


  • Gespar

A red Vulcan fruit that is often served for breakfast.
If gespar is not kept fresh, does not taste as good. Has been said to taste like a cross between a pineapple and a Rigellian "kir": tangy and piquant.

It has a reddish-pink outer layer, and a seed pod inside. The rind is used in the production of some soaps and perfumes


  • Jumbo Vulcan mollusk

Gourmet delicacy from Vulcan, best when sautéed in butter.


  • Plomeek soup / Plomeek broth

Considered a traditional morning meal on Vulcan, other species have described it as bland.

Variations have been known to exist, though it is unclear whether the "spicier" versions are other species' variations or not.


  • Plomeek tea

A bland tasting tea from the planet Vulcan.

It is unclear how this exactly differs from Plomeek broth.


  • Vulcan port

Green alcoholic beverage made by the Vulcans. It is not intoxicating by Vulcan standards, although it can be to non-Vulcans.
On Vulcan, it is often drunk after meals.


  • Redspice

A spice native to Vulcan, used in cooking food.

As Vulcan cooking is usually fairly bland, this spice is most likely mild.


  • Spice tea

A hot Vulcan tea beverage.
Fun fact: Captain Kathryn Janeway was known to be fond of spice tea.




Other

  • Ration Pack 5

Available on Federation starships, it consists of stewed tomatoes and dehydrated eggs.

Vermicula, an Antedian meal


A genetically-engineered chemical variant of alcohol.
It has the same taste and smell as real alcohol to most individuals, but none of the detrimental effects.
There are an unknown number of varieties.

Consumed in large quantities by the Antedians, it was traditionally a large barrel consisting of small fish-like animals.
