Cardassian vole

A Cardassian vole is an animal native to Cardassia Prime, and is considered vermin.

Approximately twenty-five centimeters long, these animals are covered in little hairs all over their bodies, and have six legs. Like the dominant species on their planet, these voles have spoon-shaped impression on their foreheads, as well as lines at the base of the cheeks - under the ears. Known to breed like crazy, they have been compared to tribbles, though not considered as "cute." In fact, they are often described as "disgusting hairy little creatures with ravenous appetites."

Like other rodentia, Cardassian voles lives in nests, and often create secondary nests, in addition to the main one.

They do have a mating season, usually 4-6 weeks after they invade and make their home somewhere.

Fun Facts

• Deep Space 9 once suffered an infestation of voles in formerly uninhabited sections of the station.
• Though illegal in Bajoran space, it is possible to train Cardassian voles to fight.
