Breen Starships
The Breen are one of the most mysterious powers in the Alpha Quadrant. Star Fleet Intelligence has been, on the whole, unsuccessful in getting information out of their territory, and as such knows little about the Breen's military capabilities.
The Breen typically act through intermediaries or as "privateers", operating a variety of ships that are uniform in their complete lack of uniformity. These privateers will use anything from a converted cargo freighter on up through cruiser-sized vessels, with wildly varying armaments and capabilities. Each of these vessels must be treated as a new encounter, but never underestimate them: the Breen are known for nothing so much as their tendency to fight dirty. As the Romulans say: "Never turn your back on a Breen."
What little information we have about the actual military of the Breen Confederacy can be found below. SFI has identified at least three different types of ship, though they have not been seen in action. All of these ships are generally larger than a similar type of ship in other navies, but this owes to their construction style: the main portion of each ship consists of a collection of "arcs" banded together, and they are notably asymmetrical in layout. As such, despite having larger dimensions than most ships, they actually have a lower tonnage than their equivalents.
The Destroyer and Cruiser types are fairly straightforward, but the larger ship seems to serve a dual-role in the Breen navy, acting as both a battleship and a carrier. It is unknown if this is actually two separate variants of the same spaceframe, or if they simply combined the two functions. Without hard data, SFI cannot provide any more information beyond speculation.
