Personal History
Brak was born on the Ferengi colony of Zek, on the border between Federation and Ferengi space. At an early age we was exposed to Star Fleet do to the trade the Federation did with the Ferengi Alliance during the First General War. His interest in the various aliens he saw there was exploited by his father to help get a feel for how to get the best deal could be achieved. Brak would make friends with those aliens he could and then report to Pelor would he discovered about them. Pelor would then approach these aliens. Unfortunately, Pelor was skilled at swindling them, and Brak's friendships with them would suffer. Eventually Brak caught on to what was happening and began to resent his father, and stopped helping him. For this Brak was forbidden from interacting with them anymore. This led to Brak running away when he reached the age of adulthood, boarding a Vulcan freightor (illegally), bound for Earth.
Brak was discovered and turned over to Star Fleet authorities, who tried to return him home. Pelor refused to take him and Brak was left on Zek to fend for himself. Not to be dissuaded, Brak boarded a Star Fleet vessel, legally requesting passage, and returned to Earth where he applied for citizenship. From there he applied at the Academy. He now serves on the U.S.S. Gettysburg as a tactical officer.
