Berlinghoff Rasmussen

Berlinghoff Rasmussen was a male Human from New Jersey on Earth, during the 22nd century. He was an inventor, but did not have much success.
He managed to time-travel to the future, though once there, he claimed to be from that time's future, instead.

During the 2100s, he discovered a time-pod, and saw an opportunity to take the craft in order to steal future technology and take credit for it in his own time.

In 2368, Rasmussen visited the USS Enterprise-D, and claimed to be a professor of history from that time's future. Though the crew was doubtful, Captain Picard allowed him to stay on the ship.

During his stay, he pilfered items he thought the crew wouldn't miss, though one of those items included a hand phaser.
When he tried to return to his time pod, the crew confronted him about the missing items. The pod's pre-planned navigation caused it to leave without him, and Lieutenant Worf placed him under arrest.

On their way to their next assignment, the Enterprise deposited Rasmussen at Starbase 214.
