The Barzanian Planetary Republic is the official government of the Barzan people, situated on Barzan II.
In 2366, the Barzanian Planetary Republic entered into negotiations with the United Federation of Planets over rights to the Barzan wormhole.
Several groups were involved in the bidding, and the Barzan Republic did not win the rights to the wormhole (though it was they who were auctioning it off).
- The Chrysalians won the rights, albeit shortly before it was discovered to be an uncontrollable resource.
