Personal History

Isabella met Henry when her family took a trip to Washington, and they fell madly in love. It didn't matter to Henry that Isabella was considered a 'gypsy' but most peoples standards. Isabella was from many generations of performers for a traveling circus act, most of which consisted of thieves. But, Isabella went away with Henry, and enjoyed becoming the wife of a Starfleet Officer. After Cleo was born it seemed their lives were working out perfectly, until one day they learned Cleo had some special gifts. One of her abilities surfaced when she was only three years old, on the day she was found talking to someone in her room. She swore it was her deceased aunt, and preceded to tell her mother things only the aunt and her mother knew. They knew then she wasn't lying, but didn't encourage her to explore that gift further.

The next gift became apparent on her sixth birthday, when she touched a little boys arm and became irate. She was screaming about how he was going to die, she had seen it. Isabella believed her daughter, and wasn't bothered by the gifts she had been given but Henry was worried about his little girl.

Isabella and Cleo took a trip to Earth when Cleo was seven, but Henry couldn't come because of his obligations to work. While visiting Henry's family they got some shocking news, Henry had been in a terrible accident. Being an Engineer the dangers never scared him, but when he got careless it cost him his life. Cleo and her mother, devastated by Henrys death, went back to the only other life they knew. Somehow they tracked down Isabella's family and went back to the carnival. It helped that Cleo had her gifts, and it also made them quite a bit of money.During her life Cleo met several interesting people, most of them outcasts that came to the group to have some sort of half life. She met a very interesting Andorian when she was just twelve years old, Zenon. He was an albino Andorian, sold to the carnival by his parents as some sort of side show for people to gawk at. But Cleo, being who she was, knew there was more to him and befriended him. They became like brother and sister, and Cleo's family treated him as such. Everyone in the camp was close, they would do anything for each other.

As a teen Cleo was trained to do unimaginable things, from looking into people's minds to use it against them to killing anyone that opposed her family. She met a young, charming man at the young impressionable age of 16, named Percy. What Cleo didn't know is that Percy's father had sent him to distract her and the rest of her family, so he could take advantage of Cleo's mother. She loved Percy, until the day she learned of his deception. Cleo sought revenge in the only way she knew, she killed Percy's father.

This event sent them into a spiral, starting with a fight between the new enemies, a fight that almost lead to both of them dyeing. But Cleo would never forget him stealing something from her, and some day she would return for her sword. Until then her heart would burn with hate for Percy, something that would never fade away.

On her 18th birthday, a trust fund opened up that her father had left her. Inside the fund was a good sum of money and also a letter. The letter told of his career in Starfleet, and how he hoped by now she was joining the academy, to follow in his footsteps. Her mother encouraged her to follow her heart, and with that she set out for the academy. She soon made friends with another science Cadet, Clive Daniels. Clive understood Cleo, and didn't mind her odd sense of humor or personality. However, on the day of Clive's final exam something went terribly wrong in the holodeck, and in an explosion, he was killed. Cleo never fully got over his death, but is visited by Clive's spirit on occasion. He refuses to leave her behind like her father did, even though she insisted on him going on.

Cleo was assigned to Research Station Seventy-Three-Gamma on the border with the Gamma Quadrant. Being in close quarters with so many people caused problems for Cleo, because touching people always frightened her. She was afraid of what she'd see, whether it be their death or a snippet of their future, she didn't want to see. But, she was known for keeping a cool head, and focusing on her job. A friend transferred to a starship, and Cleo also felt she needed to move on. She wanted a more exciting life than just floating along on a research lab.

When she was accepted to the USS Dauntless she knew it was going to be the beginning of something wonderful. Cleo also knew he father was smiling down on her.

Cleo was shocked to find that her first mission proved to be so hard on her, since her entire life was one big mesh of terrible and slightly less terrible days. The Vulcan's proved to be more than she could handle, and lives were lost that she could never bring back. The guilt of it washed away a little when she made a trip to Earth to introduce her family to her new love. Cleo and Theo had been so happy, and had almost everything planned for the wedding. She had no idea an old enemy would come to take everything she loved the most.

Her mistakes started to stack up when she decided to recover her prized possession, but in the process another life was ended by his own hand. It was a mistake that wounded her yet again, and sent her into the forest around her to be alone. Her best friend, Zenon and Theo buried Percy, and the three of them ended up going on an adventure they hadn't bargained for. Cleo was kidnapped by a rival clan of gypsy's, and so Theo and Zenon had to set out to find her. After her rescue things seemed to be smoothing out, even though danger loomed just beyond their camp.

Theo was called away early, which left Cleo to her own devices back on Earth. During a sparring match with Zenon, Percy suddenly appeared out of the mists in the forest. His appearance meant something was terribly wrong, and as they rushed back to the camp they found a horrifying scene. Percy's men had slaughtered nearly everyone in the camp, including Cleo's mother and grandfather. Only a few injured remained, but nobody that Cleo held dear was still alive. She was forced to give up her sword, and her dignity once again to Percy, all that remained was a mark on her cheek that he gave her to haunt her forever.

Cleo retreated into the forest with Zenon, it was the only way she knew to deal with what had happened. She felt like a coward and knew she couldn't face her love or her fellow crewmates again. Zenon tried repeatedly to assure her that everyone would understand and all would be well, but it took months before she was able to go back to the ship she felt she betrayed with her cowardliness. Upon returning she had a sense of guilt and avoidance about her, but soon she met up with Theo.

She knew he would be angry, but what happened was a total shock to her, and it would leave her feeling totally abandoned and alone. The breakup sent her into shock, her mind refused to believe that everything would be alright. Cleo found herself in Sickbay, where she finally let go of everything in a deep conversation with her friend Korbon, the CMO. Things seemed to be going well, until she went to the labs and upon talking to fellow science officer she made another shocking discovery, Theo had planned a transfer while she was away. She kept herself busy but returning to her quarters now meant remembering that she was alone.

The only comfort was a visit from her deceased mother, one that was quick but while it lasted Cleo felt better. She knew what she had to do now, do her job and get by as best she could. Her heart may never fully mend, but she had gone through too much to give up now.

After a mission that left her unsure of herself, Cleo decided the best thing to do was transfer to the USS Sheridan. Too many things had happened, it was time to move on. After a short stay on Risa, she arrived at Alpha, to wait for the Sheridan to dock. Her wait was full of exciting events that started when she met an officer named Kyle, during a training program in the holodeck. The interaction was short, followed by a short appearance of the same Kyle, and his look alike. She was then left alone with her thoughts, but soon after when Sheridan docked she was greeted by a handsome face. Jason Simmons, the Chief Tactical officer, and his brother, kept her company for a short time, but it was long enough to develop an attraction to Jason.

Later, after reporting, she found herself at the Drunken Tribble, where she met another officer from the Sheridan, Johnny Blade. It then became apparent to Cleo that both men were attracted to her, and the feeling was mutual. A bar fight broke out, when a man from Cleo's past came to hassle her. Johnny fought through the crowd to help Cleo, and nearly died from a stab wound to his side. Cleo kept running into the two men, and the more she did, the harder her decision was starting to become.

Cleo soon made her decision, and chose Johnny. Her attraction and adoration turned to love, and soon they were inseparable. Through everything they stuck together, and Cleo was the happiest she had ever been. Soon she found out she was pregnant, and was elated that Johnny was supportive.

A mission to salvage the USS Challenger turned ugly, with many members of the away team getting a virus. During this time a member of the crew, Lt Byron, was killed and this left Johnny devastated and their relationship in shambles.

She hoped for the best, even when Johnny got more distant, leaving her alone during her most vulnerable time. She sent for a nanny from home, to help with her pregnancy and the baby, and was pleasantly surprised when Zenon appeared on the ship. It was a comfort, but also a distress, since she ached for Johnny to be at her side.

She distracted herself with trips to various bases, with Zenon and other members of the crew. The baby moving inside her brought her joy, but also a kind of pain. Cleo accepted her previous position as Chief Science Officer, and tried to be happy about the upcoming birth of her baby girl. She promised herself that she would focus on the baby, and make her career and her baby her life now.

Cleo delivered a healthy baby girl, Lorelei Isabella Banks, and moved forward with her life. As she let go of her love for Johnny, she found a new love growing in her heart. It was awkward at first, realizing her feelings for LCdr Tourock Sothrick, but once it fell into place it just seemed right.

She took an adventure with Yasmin Boehm, Derek Sharpe, Sothrick, and a few others, to a distant planet. She discovered that her father was alive, and had survived as a test subject for a species she had never heard of, mind controlling bugs. They managed to barely escape with their lives, and found themselves back on Earth. The injured, along with her father, were treated and most of them attended a carnival. Cleo and Sothrick took a special trip together, and dove deeper into their feelings.

Before the start of the mission, and about a year into her relationship with Sothrick, they took a big step, to join minds. The effects left Cleo feeling ill and overwhelmed, so much so that she had to take time off to recover. Lorelei also seemed affected by the change, so the two of them had to stay in seclusion for a long time. Once she was able to, or thought she was able to control the new gift, she resumed her job.

Vowing to take it easy, she quickly threw that aside at a chance to join the away team, eager to get back to work. The USS Erebus, a Starfleet ship behind the times, appeared and she was dying to know what happened. She could only hope to control the new ability that she over-confidently brushed aside.
