Personal History
Liz’s mother died when she was two years old, so she doesn’t have any memories of her. Her father never remarried, and she was an only child. She is the perfect definition of a Daddy’s Girl, talking to her dad on an almost daily basis regardless of her posting. She is a generous and nice person, always willing to see the good in everyone. She is the opposite of what most people expect in a security officer, and many people underestimate her for it. She doesn’t lead by fear, intimidation or anger. Instead, the officers under and around her respect her and chose to follow her orders because they know she is making them for the good of the ship and the Federation. She hasn’t faced many hardships in her life, never wanting for much. She had some close friends growing up, but Sammy Jane was the closest. They would spend hours together as children and went through their entire schooling together. Sammy’s mother was like a mom to Liz. One day when the girls were 16 they were sleeping over at Liz’s house. They were woke up by the sound of sirens and soon found out that someone had broken into Sammy’s house to rob it. Her mother, home alone, was raped and murdered. There were no suspects and no leads. The police department moved the case to cold case status. Sammy had turned jaded, certain that no one cared about her mother’s murder. Liz struggled with being unable to help her friend while dealing with her own grief at the loss. Almost a year later, the original officer who reported to the scene showed up in their neighborhood again. He had news, he had caught the perpetrator. His dedication, and the way the news affected everyone, made Liz decide to become a police officer. After much research, she realized the way she could help people the best would be to enroll in the Academy and become a Star Fleet Security Officer.
