Personal History

Astrek was born shortly after Bajor’s acceptance into the Federation. His parent’s gave him the name Astrek, which means “ashes”, to celebrate how much the people of Bajor have to be thankful for. He had grown up happy longing to serve as a protector of his people through becoming a fighter pilot.

He worked hard at his studies and gained admission into the fighter pilot section of the Bajoran Militia. He continued as a pilot with the Militia for a number of years until one of his instructors put his name forward as a recommendation that he enrolled at the Starfleet Academy.

As time passed Astrek graduated from Starfleet Academy, much to the delight of his parents who had lived through the Dominion War. They had seen the bravery and dedication of the Starfleet vessels whose crews had fought to push back the Dominion, this had helped ensure the peaceful Bajor their son had been born on.

Astrek had returned from a training mission for the new XF-2 Venators when he heard of the destruction of Bajor and the Federation Starbase in the arena. After a week of mourning he dedicated himself to his role as a Fighter pilot in the hope that he would be able to defeat his parents killers in combat.

A few missions after this news he was transferred to the Ticonderoga’s Ghost Squadron in the hope that his thirst for revenge, which would most likely cost him his own life, would be tempered by guidance of pilots who had known similar levels of loss.
