Antica

Antica is an inhabited planet located in the Beta Renner system, in Sector 500.

Homeworld to the Anticans, a low-warp capable species, which achieved spaceflight only to continue war with their neighboring planet of Selay.

In 2364, both Antica and Selay applied for Federation membership, but were told that in order to be accepted into the Federation, both planets had to be at peace.

The Federation flagship, USS Enterprise-D, was sent to Antica to transport both groups of delegates to a neutral planet to conduct peace negotiations. Unfortunately, the Enterprise suffered an emergency, and the Anticans took advantage of the situation. The Antican delegates murdered and consumed the Selay delegates, setting peace talks back by a couple years.

• Negotiations did not go forward in 2364, and the Anticans were transported back to their home planet.

By 2378, Antica had been granted Federation membership.
