Personal History

Lee was born on a civilian transport ship carrying refuges away from Turkana IV. Before the ship docked, both his parents passed away. The other refuges, used to caring for themselves only, left Lee cradled in the arms of his dead mother. He was found when Star Fleet Officers began to clean up the dead. He was expected to die within days, but instead struggled through every breath until he stabilized.

Lee was placed in an orphanage on Earth in the western North American continent. While growing up, Lee excelled in all his studies, exercised every day, and inhaled knowledge. Though he wasn’t specifically anti-social he wasn’t outgoing. He was considered by most to be a pessimist, but considered himself to be a realist. His higher than average intellectual ability made him dislike the other children he lived with. As soon as he turned 15, he got a job to help take him out of the orphanage. While other kids would get excited when people came to adopt, Lee made himself appear the as undesirable as possible. He had no intention of building relationships or family connections. His unwavering love of logic, science, mathematics, and other provable things made him a skeptic of the concepts such as love and friendship hard to grasp. His self-taught combat skills made it so he was not a target amongst his fellow orphans, and his intellect made him sought for tutoring. He learned that everything was able to be bargained and traded, that everyone had a price.

As soon as he was old enough, he entered Star Fleet, wanting to get off Earth and live a new life. Lee studied in the medical field. He spent most of his time writing research papers, and was published 4 times before graduating. His work at the Academy focused on the investigation and study of hereditary diseases resulting in lethal mutation effects of interspecies reproduction, especially in miscarriages and infant death.

In his junior year he was approached by two older men. Lee was taken to a remote training camp. He was brought to the Headmasters office and informed that he had been selected to be one of the elite, a Star Fleet Intelligence Officer. Lee was informed that no one chooses to be an Intel Officer, but they are chosen by someone else. During his initial tour of the facility, he was told that he was chosen due to his high intellect, his logical mind, his lack of social connections, and his combat skills. Appreciating the other mans honesty, he joined up. It was explained to Lee that he would get one year of extra training before entering the Field. He could keep his medical major, but would need to keep his Intelligence selection a secret.

Lee met this new challenge with gusto, ensuring that he continued to excel in his studies. He graduated 2nd in his class. Upon graduation, as his classmates swapped ship assignments, he was met by the same two men from before. Packing his meager belongings in one duffel bag, Lee traveled back to the training camp for a year of intense training. During this year, his two roommates became his best, and only, friends in the universe. Finally, here he met others of his intellect level, others with dreams, emotions, and thoughts similar to his. He never felt so alive. He graduated at the top of his class this time.

Within days of graduating he was called into the main briefing room for his first assignment. He was to go undercover on the Nausicaan home world. The assignment would call for deep tissue modification. Lee underwent months of specific training to learn to act like a Nausicaan while undergoing treatments that would make him 99.99999% undetectable as a non-Nausicaan. After his 3 months of training and medical surgeries, he boarded a transport ship a new person. It took him 2 months of ship hopping to get to his destination where he met with is “host family”. They introduced him into the culture, gave him his background and plausible history to make him slide into the community easily. As soon as he was well within the culture, his host family was mistakenly killed, leaving no ties to him and any off-world agencies. He quickly rose in the ranks of the Nausicaan government, getting high enough to make himself a useful informant for Star Fleet. He became more and more like a Nausicaan over time, to the point where he almost forgot his true name and history. His handler seemed to notice the subtle changes and after 3 years undercover, he was extracted and a new agent replaced him.

After being pulled out of the field, he underwent extensive therapy but was unable to ever fully recover from his undercover work. His face retained the genetic mutations, though it was practically undetectable to the naked eye. Lee found himself acting more like a Nausicaan than a human. His own name sounded foreign to his own ears. During this year, he learned to talk like an Earth-born human again, though his alien accent can still be detected occasionally. After a year of intense therapy, he was assigned to a starship and given the rank of Lieutenant as a security officer. His jacket listed his prior years in intelligence, but his mission was rated as classified. Lee maintains his level 9 security clearance, and is still an active intelligence officer.

Lee likes to work more with traditional way, using microscopes, colorants, and other tools he is able to keep an eye on instead of saying to the computer to do his work for him. His fellow students at the academy seemed to think he got some kind of please out of dissecting things.

Though he has never served as a medical officer, he was called to duty to transfer ships and fill the needed Chief Medical Officer position on the Copernicus.

While on the Copernicus, he was given an intelligence order regarding a classified temporal event. During his time, he developed feelings for the Commanding Officer of the Copernicus, the same person he was supposed to be reporting on. For the first time in his life, he struggled between doing his duty and maintaining a relationship. He chose his duty, and left the Copernicus when ordered.

He was transferred to the Dauntless, and then the Pulsar when the crews switched ships. He now serves as the Chief Counselor, a role he feels most uncomfortable with. He has the training and the ability, but feels he lacks the proper background for someone in such a position. Like everything else in his life, he knows he will succeed in this assignment.
