At a young age, Morad showed great interest in physics and how things work. His teachers nurtured this interest and guided him to explore it further. His father, a proud mechanic who owned a respectable vehicle repair shop in Damascus, also encouraged his son to pick up the trade. At the time, the goal was to assist at the shop and to one day takeover the family business.

Ameen did his research and was able to find its blueprint, using this find he was able to replicate new parts and the specific tools that he needed for this project. His biggest challenge in the end was the power. The ancient engine used, the now outdated, fossil fuel. Getting his hand on enough quantity to fill the gas tank was quite the achievement in itself. But in the end the plane was flight worthy.

Having already attended flying lessons as part of his education regiment. Using holodeck technology, Morad flew simulation programs on this type of plane until he felt adequately able to safely fly it. When the time came to roll her out of the barn and fire up the engine, his entire family was watching. Alas, shortly after takeoff and circling a few laps over the village, Star Fleet security officers showed up in their vehicles and trapped the plane in a tractor beam before they landed her safely.

As time passed by, Omar met with Morad more regularly and eventually the young man felt he wanted to do more than to stay in the big city and work in his father’s shop. With the encouragement of his mother, and despite some reluctance from his father, Ameen applied to Star Fleet and was accepted in the academy’s Engineering officer track.

A few classes into his academy days, Ameen’s academic excellence had helped soften his father’s disapproval, and eventually turned it into pride in his son’s accomplishments. With his younger brother taking over the shop and his sisters all settled down and doing well, he was finally free to make his own way. And so, off he was, to the stars. Or so he thought...

Ameen was posted within the solar system most of his professional life. His specialty was uncommon. That, combined with his talent, meant that Star Fleet kept him close to HQ working on cutting edge projects that was driving the sensor technology forward. Ameen didn’t mind it at first. He was close to his family, and this allowed him to keep in touch with his parents and visit his many nieces and nephews. But the itch to get out there and explore remained strong.

His transfer was approved. And he was picked up by Captain Gabriel Archer of the USS Intrepid. Aboard the heavy cruiser, he was working as part of Lt Landry’s inner circle, he was the Engineer in charge of the sensor systems. The ship was old and have seen a lot of action, she had fought in most of the famous battles that he studied in the recent wars. He was told that she even traveled back in time once to save Planet Earth! Yet, he felt that she was overdue for a proper refit and her sensors needed to be upgraded to match the new ship classes that were coming out of the design pipe of Star Fleet. But as proven by his affinity to that antique crop duster airplane, he was fond of old things.

Like the Intrepid’s CO, FO and the majority of her crew, Morad found himself posted to Pioneer Outpost. In his case, he was listed as “Pending reassignment.” In the meantime, the engineer spent his time patiently assisting in the continuing effort to complete the station’s construction.

-The Borg-
 +
 +
Captain Jane Fields offered Ameen the position of Chief Engineer aboard the USS Copernicus, and with the blessing of his current CO, Captain Gabriel Archer, he decided to accept it. It did not take long for Morad to fit in on the new ship, and he started to slowly, but surely, make new friends. Before he knew it, the crew became like a second family to him, and the ship, a second home.
 +
 +
On their first mission, to attempt a second first contact with a species called the Eklata, the Galactic Science Cruiser was called to Pioneer Outpost by Admiral Thrawn himself. The Federation hero was leading a strike force to take on a mysterious Borg megasphere that detected. After the shock of the news that the Borg have returned, the plan was laid out. Turns out that the Copernicus's rule was largely that of support. She was to use her advanced computing power to process the incoming data while gathering what intel she could on the sphere itself. However, very early in the battle, the ship was engaged by a couple of Borg Probes and was able to dispatch them with the help of the Philadelphia and the Ozaki. However, during the attack, the Captain had ordered that cuts power to non critical decks in order to boost the shields. The rookie chief engineer did as ordered. The plan worked and the shields were back up to 71% and rising. However, when power was restored to said decks, it was discovered that a handful of Borg Drones had boarded the ship somehow.
 +
 +
Before the crew could organize a reaction, the ship was under the Borg's control. They infiltrated the secondary computer core and used it to take control of the ship's system. Soon the crew found itself without power and light. Working under such conditions was a novel experience for Ameen. But in the end, with the help of his engineers, they were able to drive off the Borg and restore control of the ship. Two were transported into the vacuum of space by a team of engineers who boarded a runabout. One was shot by security, and the two others retreated back to their ship in hurry. In the end, the Copernicus ended up playing a minor role in the battle, but the fleet was victorious and the Megasphere was destroyed. It did leave behind the Queen's ship flanked by two dark ships of a design unknown to Morad. They jumped to an unknown location with whatever remnant of the Borg forces soon after, and the fleet was unable to give pursuit.
 +
 +
Finally, Ameen was glad he had survived such an epic battle and lived to tell the tale. He did witness the end of some of Starfleet's most iconic ships, such as his previous home the USS Intrepid for example. But he gained a lot of valuable experience in the process, and he was ready to put that into good use on his next mission.

-The Eklata Second First Contact.-
 +
 +
After repairs, resupply and a shore leave the Copernicus was ready to roll again. We went to the Eklata home world and we attempted to restart relations with this race. Eventually, we were informed that the space creature known as mother played an important role in Eklata reproduction and was essential in the survival of the species. However, Mother was dyeing, and she wanted the Federation to help solve the Eklata reproduction difficulty before her time was up. Ameen was part of the away team that was sent to the planet, lead by Commander Hawk. With the first officer away negotiating with the elders, Ameen was left in charge of the away team, and he did well in respecting the Eklata's traditions and avoiding entering conflicts, even when provoked. Once the away mission was over, Ameen returned to the ship. However, he brought with him a sample of a special water the Eklata had offered them. Only a few drops of this precious water and it was enough to sustain a person for days. The sample was sent to the science labs for for analysis and possible applications.
 +
 +
By the end of the mission, The Copernicus was able to help the Eklata solve their reproduction problems and advanced the interest of the Federation by making a new ally. Once the mission was over the Copernicus returned to Star Base and the crew were informed that they were being transferred to Star Fleet's newest ship: The USS Titania.

-The Athenians and Lycians-
 +
 +
The USS Titania's first assignment was to represent the Federation at a wedding. The two planets had been at war for many years and now they finally entered a period of peace. To solidify this, the submitted a joint application to join the Federation as well as wedding to unite the two ruling families. The trip to the system went smoothly and ship, as well as the Engineering crew performed admirably.
 +
 +
Once there, the Captain decided that most of the senior staff will beam down with her to attend the wedding. Ameen was left in command of the Titania with ch’Alev as his second in command. The rest of the bridge crew consisted of junior officers.
 +
 +
Things took a dangerous turn when a few members of the two delegation were kidnapped from the wedding. Immediately, the away team on the ground began to assist in their recovery. Meanwhile, in space around Athenia, the planet where the wedding was being held, the two fleets of The Athenians and Lycians were mustering up to resume hostilities.  The only thing standing between them and all out open war was the USS Titania.
 +
 +
Ameen ordered the ship to position itself in the middle between the two fleets, and then proceeded to convince the two Admirals leading them to agree to a ceasefire. Then, he invited them to attend negotiations aboard the Federation Starship. During that time, a strange thing happened when someone, or something was speaking on the behalf of Ameen. This had caused some confusion, and all investigation showed nothing out of the ordinary.  However, with the help of the crew, the meeting was fruitful and the two faction agreed to chose peace.
 +
 +
With the situation in space resolved, Morad turned his attention to the events on the ground. A field of some kind was preventing communication, scans or transport of the area where the away team was operating. Initial attempts to break through the field were unsuccessful. Ameen appealed to the crew not to give up and motivated them to continue to work on the problem until resolved. True enough, by combining the crew’s ingenuity and the Titania’s powerful and advanced technology, they were able to neutralize the field. And not a moment too soon either. The away team was in trouble. The Titania transported them back to the ship, and the Royals were sent back to the palace, safe and sound.
 +
 +
The injured were being treated, unfortunately, among them was Commander Alexander Talion, Ameen’s long time friend. His situation was desperate. He was put in a coma in the hope that he would recover. Soon after, a federation civilian ship called the Valkyrie appeared. Aboard was a woman Morad had recognized a Cynthia.  She requested to come aboard to aid Talion. Ameen, who was in command at the time, authorized it. In the end, Cynthia was able to revive Alex, and he decided to take some time off of Star Fleet. He joined her on the Valkyrie and they sailed into an unknown destination.
 +
 +
With the ship without her FO, the duties of this officer were divided among the department heads. Eventually, the Captain offered the FO position to Ameen and he accepted. With that, a new chapter in his career started that day.

-The Organ Traders -
 +
 +
The Titania was sent to aid Star Base Delta and help bring order to the sector. Soon after arriving there, the crew learned of horrible raids on ships in the area where the organs of these ships' crews were harvested. After an effective investigation, it was determined that a buyer had created a significant increase in the demand for these organs and sparked a race by local mercenaries to supply and profit from this. The ship was able to track dawn this buyer and an away team, lead by the Captain was beamed down to the Bazar to find them. Ameen had to act as a slave trader to convince the buyer that he was willing a supply a large amount of organs. With the help of a young Orion midshipman Ra'an, the ruse worked and the away team was granted a meeting with the buyer.
 +
 +
As it turned out, the buyer was a female from a species that was dyeing from a disease similar to the phage. Maari, was her name, had a connection with Morad and he was able to convince her to stop buying organs, instead he offered the federation help to the people of her planet Anari by replicating the organs they need to survive until a better solution is found. In exchange, Maari gave up all the information she had about her suppliers and that lead to brining them all to justice.
 +
 +
Through the hard work and investigative skills of the Titania's Crew working with the woman who was paying for the organs, Maari, it has become known that the population of her Home world; Anari will not survive much longer without assistance from the Federation.
 +
 +
The disease which ravaged her world has decimated the population and only a robust effort on the part of Starfleet can possibly make a sufficient difference. The Titnia worked with Starfleet command and arranged for resources to not only look for a cure but also provide cloned organs and tissue to sustain a viable percentage of the planet's population until that cure can be manifested. In the end, Starfleet commended the Officers and crew of the Titania for their hard work and diligence in solving the mystery, bringing those guilty of the murders to justice, but also giving names to those victims that they could identify and bringing some manner of peace to their families.

Personal History

Morad came from a big family. As the older brother and first born, he always felt responsible for his siblings, and assisted his parents as much as he could. Growing up with that level of pressure effected the way he carried himself and his goals in life. As per tradition, he always placed his family’s wellbeing first in any decision he made.

The interest grew into an obsession when his grandparents – of whom he was close- perished in a preventable shuttlecraft accident. The ensuing investigation revealed that the mechanical failure that caused the accident was the result of a maintenance oversight.

During the grieving period, Morad immersed himself in a project that he had started with his late grandfather the previous year. It involved the restoration of an old crop duster airplane that belonged to an ancestor and remained in the family estate for generations.

Having already attended flying lessons as part of his education regiment and using holodeck technology, Morad flew simulation programs on this type of plane until he felt adequately able to safely fly it. When the time came to roll her out of the barn and fire up the engine, his entire family was watching. Alas, shortly after takeoff and circling a few laps over the village, Star Fleet security officers showed up in their vehicles and trapped the plane in a tractor beam before they landed her safely.

In the end, Morad’s father had to pay a fine for breaking the local traffic laws and for operating a fossil fuel engine. Nonetheless, everyone agreed that the experience was worth it.

However, the event did not go unnoticed by the powers that be. Soon after that flight, LCdr Omar from the local Star Fleet recruitment office showed up at the Ameen’s front door. He handed the young man an invitation to visit the center and explore the possibility of applying for Star Fleet academy. His father dismissed the idea initially, while his mother kept the documents aside for him.

Later that year, after graduating from high school, Omar met with Morad and once again invited him to visit the recruitment center. Ameen decided to give it a shot and he was quite impressed with what he saw. Yet he knew it would take a lot to convince his father to let him go.

Early Professional Career

Ameen was posted within the solar system most of his professional life. His specialty was uncommon. That, combined with his talent, meant that Star Fleet kept him close to HQ working on cutting edge projects that was driving the sensor technology forward. Ameen didn’t mind it at first. He was close to his family, and this allowed him to keep in touch with his parents and visit his many nieces and nephews. But the itch to get out there and explore remained strong.

An opportunity came knocking after the Kraynar war had ended and Star Fleet declared a new directive: the tangible focus on exploration, Morad saw this as a defining moment in his career. He submitted a request for a transfer to one of the ships assigned to the Expeditionary Operations at Pioneer Outpost.

He saw his first action during the confrontation with a Cardassian ship on the way to Pioneer. His own charge did not have much to do in the situation. Nonetheless, he found the entire thing to be very interesting. He wanted more of the same.

Alas, he did not get a chance to work on the Intrepid for long. Soon after she brought her crew to Pioneer, the ship was called back to earth to be mothballed and put in storage. Like the Intrepid’s CO, FO and the majority of her crew, Morad found himself posted to Pioneer Outpost. In his case, he was listed as “Pending reassignment.” In the meantime, the engineer spent his time patiently assisting in the continuing effort to complete the station’s construction.

All he could do was wait to see where his next adventure will be.

Professional Career

LCdr Ameen, as the Chief Engineer

241910.19

-The Borg-

Captain Jane Fields offered Ameen the position of Chief Engineer aboard the USS Copernicus, and with the blessing of his current CO, Captain Gabriel Archer, he decided to accept it. It did not take long for Morad to fit in on the new ship, and he started to slowly, but surely, make new friends. Before he knew it, the crew became like a second family to him, and the ship, a second home.

242012.01

-The Eklata Second First Contact.-

242208.15

-The Athenians and Lycians-

The USS Titania's first assignment was to represent the Federation at a wedding. The two planets had been at war for many years and now they finally entered a period of peace. To solidify this, the submitted a joint application to join the Federation as well as wedding to unite the two ruling families. The trip to the system went smoothly and ship, as well as the Engineering crew performed admirably.

Once there, the Captain decided that most of the senior staff will beam down with her to attend the wedding. Ameen was left in command of the Titania with ch’Alev as his second in command. The rest of the bridge crew consisted of junior officers.

With the ship without her FO, the duties of this officer were divided among the department heads. Eventually, the Captain offered the FO position to Ameen and he accepted. With that, a new chapter in his career started that day.

232208.17

-The Organ Traders -

Through the hard work and investigative skills of the Titania's Crew working with the woman who was paying for the organs, Maari, it has become known that the population of her Home world; Anari will not survive much longer without assistance from the Federation.
