Star System

Algol, also known as Beta Persei, is a star system within the Milky Way’s Alpha Quadrant.

The star system is approximately 92.8 light years from Sol (Earth). Its average apparent magnitude, as viewed from Earth, is 2.1, and its absolute visual magnitude is -0.2, making it about 100 times brighter than Sol. Its primary star is a blue subgiant with a stellar classification of B8 and an average temperature of about 27,000 degrees Kelvin. The stellar classification of its secondary star is A; tertiary, A; and quaternary, A. (See also the Astronomical Terms Database.)

Planetary System

The Algol star system hosts an inhabited planetary system with no less than one planet. Algol, a planet within the planetary system, is the Algolian homeworld. Its inhabitants are members of the United Federation of Planets.
