Personal History

Childhood

George was born and grew up in England. His early childhood was spent in and around the family home in Birmingham. His parents worked within the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. Jonathan, his father, worked within the Construction Division and his mother, Elizabeth was an administrator. This was how his parents originally met. His parents were very easy going and brought up the children with a good set of moral principles.

Initially George showed no interest in engineering or Starfleet during his early years. It wasn’t until he was 16 that he became friends with Zefram Cochrane Jones. Zefram was an old man who had been named for the famous inventor of the warp drive. George had known of Zefram from his parents who both visited the old man. He only lived along the street from George’s house.

Thus it was Zefram who introduced George to some of the aspects of Engineering. Every time George visited Zefram was always tinkering with something.

Academy and early career

At the academy George distinguished himself in a sound knowledge of Warp Dynamics and Generalized Engineering.

First posting was to the USS Montgomery, a Sun-Tzu Class Destroyer. He served as a Junior Engineer on the ship for 5 years. When he first joined the Montgomery he was a fresh faced Midshipman. Working methodically and conscientiously he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. After his promotion there was an opportunity to transfer to the USS Pandora.

On the Pandora he worked under Chief Engineer Aria, a Vulcan female who taught him some of the Vulcan methods for controlling emotions and focusing the concentration. During his time on the Pandora he was promoted to Lieutenant.

Lieutenant Commander Aria accepted a transfer and George was subsequently made Assistant Chief Engineer as the new Chief Engineer was Lieutenant James Abernathy the formed ACE.

George served with Abernathy for 5 years, before he to accepted a promotion and transfer of the Pandora. George was then appointed Chief Engineer of the Pandora. Two years after his appointment he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander.

Later career

Some time after his promotion to Lieutenant Commander he continued to serve on the Pandora for a further 3 years. He was then offered the position and chance to return to the Montgomery as First Officer.

He served as the Montgomery’s First Officer for 4 years before he was again promoted and transferred. This time he was moved to the USS Cochrane, a Darwin Class Galactic Exploration Cruiser.

Onboard the Cochrane, George demonstrated the same dependable and conscientious qualities that was the mark of himself and his career. He served with distinction for 4 years and it was this service that gave him the opportunity for a further promotion.

George accepted the promotion to Commander and the position as First Officer of Star Base Delta.
