Becoming an Instructor

How do you become an Academy Instructor?
You need to contact the Academy Superintendent who is in charge of hiring all Academy personnel.

Could a player "retire" their character from active duty on a ship or space station to be an instructor?
Yes but only if they create another playable character and get the correct approvals from all involved.

Misc

Are AI points only awarded if you are active the whole month?
AI points are based on whether or not you have been actively training a Cadet during the month.

May I ask how it is that Academy Instructors are promoted? Cause they normally start off as Lt. I was just wondering.
The AI ranks are not really indicative of anything at the moment. We had considered at one point having all the AI's ranked at Lieutenant, then when they had been AI's for a while and were considered 'Senior Instructors' we would promote them to Lieutenant Commander and reserve Cdr ranks for only the Admins.

Are Academy Instructors allowed to post in the Sol System threads when not teaching cadets?
Yes.
