Personal History

A’kilees was born on the planet Sauria in a clutch of eggs on 239403.15 and was a vibrant member of the community. Unusually his eggsack was grafted together with another egg who would become his brother and “eggmate”, H’ektorr. The two would have a special bond growing up, constantly competitive in whatever they were tasked with whether in sports or academics as well as mischievous antics. Most of their pranks would involve taking pieces of technology apart or messing about with systems to pull pranks on others which would usually land themselves into trouble.

From an early age, A’kilees was fascinated with starships and intergalactic travel. He would sneak off to the nearby spaceport and watch various ships from Starfleet and alike land and take off for hours. His playtime would consist of playing with model starships and pretending to be Starfleet captains travelling the stars, going to far off planets and on dangerous missions. Whenever he felt down or depressed, he could always be found sitting at the overlook of the spaceport. Besides that he would spend his time reading saurian and other species literature, watching theatre performances or swimming competitively.

At school, he would find a mentor in his teacher Ch’eiron. Ch’eiron saw the potential in both the eggmates and earnestly pushed them academically to follow their dreams. While he taught the two on a wide range of subjects, Che-hiron observed their shared proficiency in engineering. A’kilees had an affinity for starship design and starship support systems while H’ektorr focused more on weaponry, shields and other defensive systems. Ch’eiron became a confidant to both the young saurians and they would all share a friendship outside the confines of school for many years. At some point, A’kilees would submit designs for a starship for a Starfleet science contest and would be selected to tour and stay on a starship for a few days meeting with the captain, the crew and the inner workings and systems of the ship. This event would solidify his interest in joining Starfleet in the future.

As A’kilees grew older his interest in starship design expanded and also his passion in joining Starfleet and he applied after finishing school on Sauria. Unfortunately, H’ektorr decided to remain on Sauria after receiving a lucrative offer rather than travel to Earth to enroll in Starfleet which disappointed A’kilees with but the two promised to keep in touch when they could. Time at Starfleet was very enjoyable but sometimes difficult. A’kilees found the coursework challenging but the facilities were chilly and would experience colds, his yearly skin sheddings would disrupt his schedule from time to time and the Universal Translator would occasionally be unable to translate Saurian correctly. The worst incident at the Academy would be near the end of the third year. A’kilees discovered his extensive starship designs had been taken from his quarters after returning from class one afternoon. Initial investigations by the facility resulted in no results or suspects much to A’kilees dismay. From that point on he refocused his efforts and would excel courses on integral starship systems to be one of the top of his class, his only goal now is to graduate and be assigned to a starship to continue his dreams.
